Early Mongolia
Mongolian Yurt
In the time before Genghis Khan, the tribes of Mongolia (located in central Asia) were seperated and divided into several tribes.
They were a nomadic culture, roaming around for fresh resources for their livestock. They normally kept large herds of sheep and goats. They were well known for their horse riding skills. They often raised hawks for hunting and tracking skills. Their main housing unit was called a yurt, a portable tent made of fur and fabrics.
The tribes of Mongolia were known to often engage in warfare constantly. The constant fighting led to an image of brutish barbarians, and made them unable to amount to any form of political signifigance. Yet, never the less the ancient chinese to the east of the continent set large walls and defenses in case of invasion.
