A Mongolian Leader. Khaaan!
Rise and Early Life
"It is not sufficient that I succeed. All others must fail." -Genghis Khan
Genghis Khan's father was a tribal leader. When he was a child his father died and his family was abandoned when another member gained power. He spent his childhood struggling to survive, observing the struggles of the tribes, and for a brief time being imprisoned. During this time he met many future alies, and learned to value loyalty, a trait important for leadership.
He began to grow with his allies as a well trained army. By 1206 he had already taken over or destroyed many of the Mongolian tribes. Including the army of his step brother Jamuka, who was once his ally. This eventually led to the collective name as the Mongols, with Temujin named as Genghis Khan, or universal ruler. Being made the most powerful man in Asia he went to new lands to expand his empire.
The results of his activites were enormous. In a single life time he completely changed life in an entire continent. He created new forms of psycological and invading warfare. He changed the way people viewed nomadic culture. He brought down entire empires. He did more in one lifetime than what the Romans could do in four hundred.
